Award Ceremony

Here is Treyton and his best friend Keith, who is also LDS and clearly a head taller than Treyton, getting their Trailblazer awards at the PTA meeting. I'm not really sure what this award is really for, but basically having good character and being a good kid.

Exercise

I try really hard to walk Treyton to school every day that is warm enough and dry enough. It's just over a mile each way, so it provides me with a good workout (especially on windy days and with Treyton holding onto the stroller provides great resistance). There are those cold and rainy days that I drive instead of walking. On the days that I drive, I do workout videos. The boys will usually do them with me. On this particular day, the boys wanted to do an exercise video just for fun. Here they are stretching.
And here they are punching (they really like doing the boxing moves). I love that they see me trying to be healthy and want to exercise and be healthy too. Treyton has learned a lot about health and fitness throughout the year at school and he really likes exercising.

Father and Sons Campout

For different reasons, my boys have not been on a father and sons campout until now. This was their first one together. They had a lot of fun. It was really hot for most of the night but cooled off enough to sleep by about 2:00 a.m. There was a severe thunderstorm warning that night, but luckily the storm went to the north of them. They got home just as I was getting up for the day.

Now that I have a nice camera, I've been taking pictures of my children instead of taking them to a studio. So, I tried to get some pictures of Celeste for her 18 month pictures and this is how it turned out. I tried inside pictures.

I tried outside pictures.

I finally gave up and I'm going to take her to a studio. I'll try her again at age 2. She is just too busy and easily distracted to get a nice shot of her. Maybe if someone else takes her picture she'll stop and look at the camera.

Walking Alone

For the past 2 days Shawn has been home sick with strep throat. I'll be going to the doctor shortly to find out if I have it too. Because he's been home, I've left the 2 younger kids home while I walk Treyton to school. I've absolutely loved walking him to school alone. We walk hand in hand (Yeah he still likes holding his mommy's hand) and we are able to just talk for the half an hour walk to school. It's been so wonderful to have this little bit of one on one time with my oldest son. Today it had been raining all night and stopped just in time to walk to school. We talked about how the water flows down the drains and how the roads are slanted and curved just right to help the water flow towards the drains. Plus we had fun jumping all the puddles. Shawn and I definitely need to find time to have special one on one time with each of our kids. I have a feeling golf might be that special time for Treyton with his daddy.

Golf Lessons

I decided I would wait until my children expressed a desire to participate in a sport or other activity before signing them up for a class. Of course I make suggestions to give them ideas of things they can do. Treyton wanted to take golf lessons. He was the only kid in his class, so he got quality time with his teacher. He really enjoyed golf lessons (there were only 2 lessons) even though they were way hot--90 degrees!

I can do it myself

Ever since this child started walking, she thinks she is a big girl. She only wants to walk up and down stairs and loves climbing ladders. She can get on and off the trampoline by herself. She seems to have very good balance and hasn't really fallen off any ladders or stairs.
