I can get it

Celeste has now figured out how to move this chair around the house to get into more things. Here's just one example. She had already been up but the chair fell, so now she is getting it up again.

This is where I was doing some scrapbooking for Treyton's school.

With the weather warming up, the boys decided to get out their squirt guns. After a little fun, Wade did this. . . So Celeste did this. . .

Check out how blue the sky is.

Reading With Grandpa

Isn't it sweet to see Grandpa reading to his cute grandaughter?

Slip N Slide

My mom gave us a slip n slide before we moved here and we finally got it out. They boys all had fun, but I think Shawn had the most fun. This was Treyton's first run.
Here's Wade's first run.
Treyton decided to try the knees.
Shawn is showing the boys how you are suppose to slide.
Yah! Treyton did it. But he didn't really go anywhere.
This is the only way he'd make down the slide.

Dallas World Aquarium

We saw flamingos at the zoo also, but these had such a vibrant, beautiful color to them.

I didn't even know there were some species of penguins that live in warm weather.
He we are after a long day of walking around and looking at some beautiful fish and birds.
This aquarium really is fantastic and I was amazed at all the fish I'd never seen before.

Pain in the Neck

First off, I want to apologize for the direction of the photos. I don't know how to change it on the blog and I don't want to fix them and the upload them again. Shawn and I went to a ward activity/enrichment activity on Friday, Feb. 27. After dinner there was square dancing and we joined in the fun. By Sat. night my neck started hurting. Monday night I had to take drugs in order to fall asleep because my neck hurt to bad. Again more drugs on Tuesday. My neck didn't hurt in the morning because I'd been sleeping and resting my neck. By afternoon my neck would start hurting again and get worse and be very painful by bedtime. By Wednesday (March 4) my neck started really hurting before lunch and so I called a chiropractor. I went in and they did this thermal scan. Here are the results of the scan. Green is mild, blue is moderate and red is severe. Oh, and black is off the charts. Here's my neck

and here's my back. On Thursday I went back to speak with the chiropractor and he said that I had a deformity in the bones of my lower back and that I would probably have back problems most of my life. My lower back has quite often had a fairly constant dull pain, but I'd just learned to live with it and now I know why. Also, he said my neck problems probably stemmed from 20 years ago and have just gotten worse and worse until now. I have a forward head tilt instead of the natural backward neck curve and that is what was causing my neck so much pain.

I now have to go to the chiropractor for a 6 month treatment starting with 3 days a week for the first month. My neck has stopped hurting since the first adjustment, but my back seems to hurt after each adjustment and in different places. On the 17th I received this lovely contraption to help put the natural curve back in my neck.

Dallas Zoo

Here we are on the dart train which will take us right to the zoo.
In front of Dallas Zoo sign
Treyton and Wade watching the gorilla.
Celeste in the stroller eating snacks.
Two little monkeys
What a sweet girl!
Celeste finally had to get out of that stroller and walk. We had to switch off trying to hold her/keep track of her/walk with her.
Treyton sitting on a turtle. Apparently the mouth was the most fascinating part.
Once Celeste was out of the stroller, Treyton took his turn.
By the end of the zoo, Wade was just too tired to even keep his eyes open.

Visitors, Yeah!!

Now that we live so far away from family, we don't get to see family nearly as often. So when family comes, we get super excited. Shawn's parents came today for spring break. The boys were so excited all day long and kept asking when grandma and grandpa were coming. Treyton fell asleep pretty early, maybe around 7 or 7:30 pm, on the couch. However, Wade was extremely determined to stay awake until grandparents got here. When Shawn left to go pick them up from the airport, Wade kept asking how long until they got here. With the house cleaned and ready for company, I sat down to watch tv around 8 pm. Wade sat and watched with me. Just before 9 pm, Wade turned around and laid down on the couch and he was still fighting sleep. Right at 9 pm Wade lost the battle and closed his eyes. Grandparents arrived just after 9:30 pm. Wade fought so hard to stay awake to see his grandparents, but being 4 years old and with an early bedtime, he just couldn't do it. Treyton ended up waking up with all the talking to see grandma and grandpa. Celeste also woke up when daddy tried to put more air in the mattress with the vacuum. So poor Wade was the only one to have to wait until morning to see grandma and grandpa.

I'll get my own snack!

Wade is very good about getting his own snacks. Well, he left grapes sitting out and guess who found them. She helped herself to some grapes. If I were a "perfect" mom, I would have removed the choking hazard first, pictures second. Since I'm not a perfect mom, here's my little girl helping herself to a snack. Don't worry, after a few pictures I did cut the grapes up for her.

Movie Time

Here are the boys watching a movie on a lazy Saturday. Usually this little dvd player is in their room, but for some reason they brought it out to the living room where they could've watched the movie on the regular tv.

Our First Swim

This wasn't our warmest day of the year, but still very warm. The boys wanted to get the pool out. The boys kept splashing Celeste when she got close to the pool, which she didn't really like (and the water was very cold). I just dipped her toes in and she kept her feet tucked up close to her body and fussed. She did not enjoy swimming, so I took her inside and put her to bed.
Even though the water was freezing cold, the boys still enjoyed the pool. They would run from the fence and jump in the pool.
Wade is not drinking the water (ok maybe he is--no, probably he is), he is just getting the water into his mouth. . .
. . .to do this.
And now Treyton's turn to get Wade.
