Dallas Zoo

Here we are on the dart train which will take us right to the zoo.
In front of Dallas Zoo sign
Treyton and Wade watching the gorilla.
Celeste in the stroller eating snacks.
Two little monkeys
What a sweet girl!
Celeste finally had to get out of that stroller and walk. We had to switch off trying to hold her/keep track of her/walk with her.
Treyton sitting on a turtle. Apparently the mouth was the most fascinating part.
Once Celeste was out of the stroller, Treyton took his turn.
By the end of the zoo, Wade was just too tired to even keep his eyes open.

Visitors, Yeah!!

Now that we live so far away from family, we don't get to see family nearly as often. So when family comes, we get super excited. Shawn's parents came today for spring break. The boys were so excited all day long and kept asking when grandma and grandpa were coming. Treyton fell asleep pretty early, maybe around 7 or 7:30 pm, on the couch. However, Wade was extremely determined to stay awake until grandparents got here. When Shawn left to go pick them up from the airport, Wade kept asking how long until they got here. With the house cleaned and ready for company, I sat down to watch tv around 8 pm. Wade sat and watched with me. Just before 9 pm, Wade turned around and laid down on the couch and he was still fighting sleep. Right at 9 pm Wade lost the battle and closed his eyes. Grandparents arrived just after 9:30 pm. Wade fought so hard to stay awake to see his grandparents, but being 4 years old and with an early bedtime, he just couldn't do it. Treyton ended up waking up with all the talking to see grandma and grandpa. Celeste also woke up when daddy tried to put more air in the mattress with the vacuum. So poor Wade was the only one to have to wait until morning to see grandma and grandpa.

I'll get my own snack!

Wade is very good about getting his own snacks. Well, he left grapes sitting out and guess who found them. She helped herself to some grapes. If I were a "perfect" mom, I would have removed the choking hazard first, pictures second. Since I'm not a perfect mom, here's my little girl helping herself to a snack. Don't worry, after a few pictures I did cut the grapes up for her.

Movie Time

Here are the boys watching a movie on a lazy Saturday. Usually this little dvd player is in their room, but for some reason they brought it out to the living room where they could've watched the movie on the regular tv.

Our First Swim

This wasn't our warmest day of the year, but still very warm. The boys wanted to get the pool out. The boys kept splashing Celeste when she got close to the pool, which she didn't really like (and the water was very cold). I just dipped her toes in and she kept her feet tucked up close to her body and fussed. She did not enjoy swimming, so I took her inside and put her to bed.
Even though the water was freezing cold, the boys still enjoyed the pool. They would run from the fence and jump in the pool.
Wade is not drinking the water (ok maybe he is--no, probably he is), he is just getting the water into his mouth. . .
. . .to do this.
And now Treyton's turn to get Wade.

So Tired!

Upon arriving home from picking Treyton up from school, he promptly goes into the pantry for a snack. Not this day. He did sit down at the table, but instead of eating he did this.
Treyton has never taken a nap after kindergarten before. I don't think he was feeling very well this day. My poor little baby.
